My Current Morning Routine

My morning typically begins at about 6:30 am every day. Not that I have anywhere to be that early, but I've learned that taking my time in the morning sets me up for a more productive and energized day.

The first thing I do is always turn on something to listen to, usually that's music. I'm particularly loving "Don't Kill My Vibe" by Sigrid for boosting my energy at the start of the day. On Wednesdays though, I've been turning on the "At Home With..." podcast by Lily Pebbles and Anna Newton. If you haven't checked it out yet, you absolutely should. The episodes are super lovely interviews with major beauty and fashion players in their homes.

Moving on, after a bit of catch up on everything from Instagram and Refinery29 to Into the Gloss and Bloglovin', I get up to wash my face. Lately I've been using the Indie Lee Rosehip Cleanser (but of course the Glossier Milky Jelly Cleanser is an eternal favorite). Then I spritz with the Mario Badescu Rosewater and Aloe Spray, put on a little Glossier Priming Moisturizer, and wait just a couple of minutes before adding on the Glossier Invisible Shield sunscreen. It's amazing how much this little routine makes me feel fresh and prepared for the day.

Typically, once my skin is prepped, I head downstairs to make a smoothie. I toss in some frozen fruit, spinach, coconut milk, and a scoop of Olly protein powder. (Pro tip: If you're like me and hate the taste of protein powder, a little lemon juice will mellow it out a bit) Since I have a lot of food allergies, my smoothies tend to be a random mix of the ingredients I can actually eat. As helpful as smoothie recipes can be, I find I'm never dissatisfied with the results when I just throw stuff in! While that's blending super well (anyone else hate chunky smoothies??) I fill up my LifeFactory water bottle, drink it entirely, and fill it right back up again.

Post-smoothie, the very last thing I do before sitting down at my desk is take a couple of supplements. Right now, I'm taking turmeric, ashwagandha, and a supplement for adrenal health, and I'm loving how energized and calm they make me feel. At last, I'm ready to get down to business!
