Accessorizing for Autumn

Watch provided by Jord Watches, but everything in this post is my full and honest review.

In the autumn, more so than in any other season I think, I am drawn to timeless pieces. There's something about the weather getting colder that has me pulling out the classics. You know what I'm talking about right? The peacoats and black booties, the cozy sweaters and dark wash jeans. If I buy anything in the autumn it's usually an update on one of these classic pieces.

This year, I find myself a bit more focused on the little parts of my outfit. I've never been one to accessorize much at all, but for some reason I am so into the little black purses, chic berets, and simple jewelry this season has to offer. Accessorizing in a season of classics gives you the opportunity to mix things up just enough and stand out from the crowd, if that's what you're going for. That's why one of my favorite new pieces this season is my Jord Frankie watch.

If you haven't heard of Jord, they are a brand focused on sustainability who specialize in wood watches. The pieces somehow manage to combine timelessness and uniqueness in a way that makes them such an interesting addition to an outfit. There are a lot of innovative watch designs out there, but I tend to prefer classic styles. As I said before, this season I've been on the lookout for unique and updated versions of classics and, that's why I chose the Frankie. The Zebrawood band and Champagne face match with every black, camel, and plaid outfit I've been throwing on this season - which means for once I've been encouraged to be practical and actually wear a watch every day. Believe me when I say that took me by surprise!

Classic pieces are easy to style, but it's the unique pieces that catch people's eye and draw compliments. The wood aspect is unexpected, durable, and truly beautiful. So much so that even though I just got my Frankie, I already have my eye on the Cassia in Ebony & Sable (a girl's gotta have options right??). As you can see in the pictures, I styled my watch with a super timeless look. The camel coat plays off the colors of the zebrawood beautifully, and to keep the watch the focal point of the outfit, I stuck to subtle neutrals for the rest of the outfit. A lovely combo in my humble opinion.

The holidays are quickly approaching, and I can't help but think these would make perfect gifts too! If you're looking for something a little luxurious, but still practical and straight from an ethical brand, the men's watches would be a dream for the boyfriend or your dad, as would the women's for your sister or your best friend. You'll see them featured in my upcoming holiday gift guides for sure!
