Beauty Bits I'm Dying to Stock Up on for Summer
I wait all year for my summer beauty routine. No joke. It sounds beyond silly, but I love the ritual of packing on light layers of hydration, of misting myself throughout the day like some sort of diva, of keeping my makeup as light and dewy as humanly possible. It’s just my jam, the point of the year at which I feel most myself. And most glowy. Over the last few years I’ve found favorites I’ve fallen in love with over the course of the summer and this year there are a few I’m looking to add onto those as well. Here we go:
Vintner’s Daughter Active Botanical Serum: This stuff is often debated when it comes to its worth and effectiveness, but I recently saw a photo of myself when I’d been using it and holy moly my skin looked so good! Clear. Glowy. Amazing. The price hurts me so much I’m almost tempted to try my hand at recreating it, but I might just give in and splurge.
MAKE Beauty Succulent Skin Gel: I was obsessed with this lightweight moisturizer from last April on. It’s hydrating thanks to cactus extracts and has a soothing blend of aloe vera, chamomile, and calendula. A true antioxidant, anti-inflammatory, hydrating dream product. And affordable to boot.
Dr. Barbara Sturm Hydrating Face Mist: I will reluctantly admit that I fell in love with Dr. Sturm’s Hyaluronic Serum after receiving it as gratis (the $300 price tag hurts my heart), and this face mist is just as heart-wrenchingly pricy but amazing.
Supergoop Forever Young Hand Cream: I have a weird fear of my hands aging, and this SPF 40 hand cream helps assuage that. I had a small bottle of this stuff last year, but this year I’m thinking the big bottle might be worth it.
Supergoop Defense Refresh Setting Mist: This stuff smells like rosemary and is the easiest way I’ve found to reapply sunscreen throughout the day. It’s a solid all around beach bag or daily life go too.
Nécessaire Body Wash and Body Lotion: Haven’t tried these, but I’ve been heavily influenced by Instagram to want them. The fact that they come in a fragrance-free option is seriously ideal for my sensitive skin.
Kjaer Weis Highlighter and Cream Blush: Lovely refillable packaging aside, these cream products look absolutely lovely, and honestly cream everything all the time in summer is my M.O.
Agent Nateur Holi Stick Sensitive: I’ve had allergic reactions to pretty much every deodorant I’ve ever tried, natural or not. The struggle is real. Here’s hoping this formula for sensitive skin does the trick and keeps me fresh.
8Greens Tablets and Agent Nateur Holi Youth the Oceanic Adaptogen: I firmly consider supplements part of my beauty routine at this point. A hefty dose of greens and adaptogens might just be the last push I need to keep my skin and body feeling good.
