A Year in Review
Wow, what a year it has been. I hardly know where to begin with this post because it has truly been such a wild ride. I know it's not quite over yet, but it felt like a good time to start reflecting on the year.
I can't claim every moment of this year has been happy - that's just unrealistic. I've dealt with a lot of heartbreak and loss this year, but honestly, it's shown me how loving and supportive the people in my life can be, the importance of family, and how finding truly good and healthy friendships can change everything. Even amongst all of the stress and the sadness, I think I've learned to be a better person in all aspects of my life - though of course there are still things to work on.
I started my senior year of college this past spring and I couldn't be more thrilled to be heading towards the end of my college journey. It hasn't been the easiest path, nor the most direct, but I've almost made it. It feels fitting that this year I've developed a deeper appreciation for both my professors and my classmates. My classes have been filled with truly inspirational people offering so many perspectives on the world and I couldn't be more grateful for that aspect of my education.
I also started this blog this year! Kind of crazy that I've only been doing this since April, but I am so grateful for the many opportunities it's brought. And I mean beyond PR gifts, there are so many kind people I've met and so many little things that have happened that feel like small miracles. I am so grateful for everyone who reads this blog or follows me on Instagram. It is seriously one of the highlights of my life being able to create written and visual content and engage with people. Writing is the great love of my life, but I'm so so happy to have platforms to express my creativity and passions in multiple forms.
I am also lucky to have amazing photographers in my life! I honestly would not have been able to build my blog or Instagram without them. That includes my awesome mom who took these photos and all of my photos over the summer, one of my best friends who took all of my early photos in the spring, and my seriously pro friend who took the photos that are now the entry point for this blog. They are all incredible and patient and I am so grateful!
My joke of the year has been: who needs a marketing team when you've got supportive parents? And that is because my parents and really my whole family have been so ridiculously supportive of this venture. They're my biggest fans and my biggest inspiration and I love them all dearly.
I think that this year has truly been a year of growth, which typically aren't the easiest years to live through in the moment, but gosh what an amazing thing it is to look at where you were at the beginning of the year compared to where you are now. I thank you all for an incredible year and I wish you all an amazing 2018!
